Year 3 Wrap-Up (1)

I walked past the ER station toward the door leading outside.

Ziiing-

The automatic doors opened, and as I stepped out toward the triage area, I spotted a woman anxiously pacing the corridor, unable even to sit in a waiting-room chair.

She was clutching a cellphone and handbag so tightly they looked ready to break.

Anyone could tell she was practically shouting with her whole body, ‘I’m the guardian of a TA patient who just came back from the brink of death.’

When the nurse pointed me out, the woman’s gaze locked onto me.

“Uh… um, are you Mr. Oh Seungbeom’s guardian?”

When I approached and asked cautiously, the woman flinched and hurried toward me.

“Ah, ah, yes! I’m Seungbeom’s guardian. I’m his mother.”

Her voice was trembling...
