The Coach's Setback

Since I began streaming, several things happened for the first time this morning.

I messed up washing rice twice. That was one.

Hina-chan messaged me, 'Teacher, you're nervous.' That was two. I replied that there was no way she could know that before the stream, and she sent back, 'I could tell from your voice in last week's preview.' Why do students always become so good at observing things?

Third. Tonight, for the first time since starting the course, I have nothing to teach.

On my desk lay a single nameless notebook I'd taken from the bottom of the oldest box. It was the same one I'd opened on the first night. The fact that its cover was blank wasn't because I'd cut corners. Back then, I had no name to write on its cover. The practice of writing someone's name on a cover began much later.
