Chapter 15
Chapter 15: Met Something New
[Mutated Wolf Hide x1]
[Mutated Wolf Large Fang x2]
As anyone who's played games knows, there are several ways to obtain equipment items.
You can buy them from shops, order them from blacksmiths, or win rare items at auction houses.
And in this game, the main way to get items was ordering from blacksmiths.
Of course, since this game aims to be 'another reality', all other methods are possible too.
But items from shops usually have mediocre quality, and auctions are often too expensive.
That's why most users choose custom orders. The prices are reasonable and the quality is usually better.
However, this method has one problem... you usually have to prepare the materials yourself.
Sure, you can buy the materials too, but that gets too expensive. At that point you might as well buy from shops. Money always holds people back.
And this game doesn't shower you with items like other RPG games... so getting new equipment is tricky.
But in this situation, materials came to her. And high-quality ones at that.
A mutated wolf? Isn't that a monster from this forest?
Most monsters living in this forest boast incredibly high levels. Even she, who's considered high-level among users, can't kill them.
Among them, the 'Mutated Wolf' was relatively weaker... but still strong nonetheless.
'What level were Mutated Wolves again?'
Even within the same species, individuals vary in level. But you could find an average. Fortunately, she remembered quickly.
After all, the monster she faced when she died here was a Mutated Wolf.
That one's level was definitely...
'83.'
Holy shit.
Chae-rin cursed internally. That's almost ranker-level.
Just what level is this guy?
[Our oppa... seems pretty strong wow]
[Strong man wow warped sexual desire...]
[ㄴ Has been banned by moderator]
[wtf why was that one banned]
[Maybe he just found a dead wolf's corpse]
[fr lol how strong can a man be lololol]
[Fact, A truckload of bitches got sliced up by the Fourth Knights' Order Commander saying stuff like that]
"?"
Meanwhile, Yor was puzzled.
Honestly from his perspective, he just tossed over some random junk lying around his house.
Sure, he knew it was valuable, but from his view these were items he could get anytime.
But to Yoo Chae-rin, these were extremely precious items.
Being uncharted territory, items from this area were very scarce. It was a difference in perspective based on rarity.
So Yoo Chae-rin bowed her head in thanks.
"Thank you!"
She could already envision how to process them. Turn the hide into armor, and since there are two fangs, make them into a pair of daggers...
'Hehe.'
Maybe she could get equipment far better than that level 75 dagger she was planning to buy.
"Alright, now go. It's getting dark."
"Ah, yes!"
And so Chae-rin left Yor's home.
After she left, Yor lightly checked his goods.
'6 bottles of holy water.'
And pastries with strawberry jam too!
It was a satisfying result.
These were items usually only sold in city centers, making them precious items that Yor, being a criminal, couldn't easily obtain.
Compared to these, the junk items he gave Chae-rin were nothing.
Sure, he could ask the back alley folks, but... who knows what they might do to the bread.
Even they have trouble getting holy water, such a precious item.
Pleased, Yor grinned as he took a bite of bread.
"Hya."
A rich and sweet taste spreads in his mouth. Including a taste of nostalgia.
'But it's a bit cold...'
That was slightly disappointing.
*
The day after Chae-rin left.
I immediately started camouflaging my house.
While I'd decided to expose my existence somewhat, I didn't want people constantly coming and going from my home.
I covered the cave roof using dirt and leaves I could find nearby. Fortunately my home was nature-friendly. Thanks to that, covering it with leaves didn't look out of place.
Looking from far away, it probably just looks like a big hole.
The cave entrance... I left uncamouflaged for now.
The entrance wasn't very big so it's hard to spot anyway, and I needed to see sunlight too.
With my mental state already shaky, I need at least some sunlight.
And I had another thought.
'I'll be discovered eventually anyway.'
Just because I camouflaged it doesn't mean my house will be completely hidden.
Eventually when more people enter this forest, my house is destined to be discovered.
When that time comes, I'll truly become a zoo monkey...
I just hope these otherworlders show modern human decency and don't break into homes.
"Phew, done."
After some time passed, I finally finished the work.
I can see my little home blending in with the forest. This completes the biggest task for today.
'Now to get food.'
All that's left is maintaining daily life. I hope I can find something good today.

[Yeah that streamer Yoo Chae-rin found one]
[ㄴ Oh lol can I get quests too if I go?]
[ㄴ Wake up lol why would he give quests to you?]
[ㄴ Watch your mouth bitch]
[Maybe he won't keep giving quests? Looking at the errand list it seems quest-worthy;]
[ㄴ Either way worth watching? Quest-giving NPCs aren't common]

After finishing the game, Yoo Chae-rin casually browsed the community.
It was one of her small pleasures.
Checking people's reactions after her stream ends.
Her editor said checking those things only hurts your mental health and told her not to look, but she couldn't stop.
Fortunately looking around the community, the reactions weren't bad.
Today's stream must have been quite satisfying. It's rare for a small-time streamer like her to even be mentioned in the community.
That shows how impactful Yor is.
And today a quest even popped up. No wonder users' attention was focused on this.
Not every NPC who gives quests becomes an important character.
But those NPCs who give quests all have a 'chance' to become major characters in the world view.
From a user's perspective, it doesn't hurt to remember them. Plus Yor's appearance was quite impressive too. At this, Yoo Chae-rin gave a bitter smile.
Seems like he was a bit unhappy about people coming to find him.
'More will come...'
This was something she couldn't prevent. Since a quest appeared, people will come at least to take a look.
Still, since she gave warnings during her stream, problematic users probably won't come.
Though she hasn't seen him fight directly, people should vaguely understand how strong he is.
Ding-!
Just then, as her thoughts continued, a text notification appeared on her phone.
It was a message from her editor.
[Black Cat: Watched the stream, it was fun]
[Black Cat: Should I start editing right away?]
"Hmm..."
Hearing this, Chae-rin hesitated for a moment. After streaming, editing for YouTube was common sense. But just yesterday, after hearing his complaints... something kept bothering her.
So Yoo Chae-rin asked her editor:
[Chae-rin: Sis about that]
[Chae-rin: Can we hold off on YouTube for now?]
[Black Cat: ??? Why]
[Chae-rin: Just feels weird..]
[Black Cat: Come on it's just an NPC what's the problem]
She had a point. It's not like the NPC would watch her YouTube anyway.
From their perspective, [Demons Saga] was just a game. No matter how human-like, how vivid they seemed. They were still AI.
That's why other streamers immediately edit and upload [Demons Saga] content when they get it. Usually doesn't matter which NPC appears. They can't watch YouTube anyway.
That was the trend, the common sense.
But...
[Chae-rin: Sorry sorry I'll buy you food later]
[Black Cat: ..Fine make it something good]
[Chae-rin: Ok ok]
Just because NPCs can't see it doesn't mean it won't bother them. She doesn't want any more flicks to the forehead.
Chae-rin made that excuse to herself and changed her thoughts. Maybe I'll ask Yor's permission later.
With that thought, she started browsing the community again. She sees the 'Evil Gallery' playing around discussing the game as usual.
That's when it happened. A particularly eye-catching post entered her view.
She clicks on a popular post with lots of comments.

[Think I found a new type of enemy wow]
I was at a remote village for a guild quest when suddenly the villagers started screaming about demonkin appearing wow
(Video)
It's resolved now but
What the hell is this thing?

[???]
[It's human?]
[Is it human? Eyes are super black wow]
[How old are they they look super young]
Yoo Chae-rin clicked on the video as if entranced.
