The Emperor.

How should I explain this?

Everyone who played <Dark Fantasy Saga> would agree: the Emperor was someone all players hated, yet still thought they needed.

First, the reason they hated him was obvious.

Quite a few bad endings were tied to the Emperor.

To give an obvious example, there was everything from being turned into medicine to being executed for defying the Emperor.

Countless bad endings were connected to the Emperor.

And yet, there was also a reason players couldn't bring themselves to hate him.

I recall posts I'd seen a long time ago.

<I killed the Emperor and the game fell apart>...
