North of the continent that was once the Hexion Empire,

lies the Holy Kingdom, home to the headquarters of the religion that rules the continent.

Of course, religion’s influence across the continent is negligible.

It’s far more practical to fear the lords and monarchs, who are practically demigods in their own domains, than to worship a god you can’t see and aren’t even sure exists.

That doesn’t mean the Holy Kingdom’s influence is weak, however.

That’s because most of the kingdoms built atop the Empire’s corpse still actively adopt Imperial culture.

It makes their people easier to control and helps make up for their lack of legitimacy.

In particular, unlike the Twelve Overlords, the monarchs and lords who didn’t help bring about the Empire’s fall are little more than hyenas scavenging its corpse.

They have no choice but to patch over their lack of power with culture.
