A Stern Warning (2)

After safely completing my contract with the Tower and coming out.

I was lying on my bed, looking through the Communication Window.

The climbers were celebrating their newly acquired curse immunity.

Now, even if the Tower's time limit ran out, climbers would not die.

That meant humanity might be able to survive even if the world were destroyed...

But it was by no means an entirely good thing. Certainly not.

At this point, I had no expectations left anyway.

This could hardly even be called insurance.

As could be inferred from the existence of Floor 10, even if humanity survived, as long as the Tower—the root cause of everything—continued to exist, there was a high chance that the world would eventually be destroyed somehow.

And, just as I had worried before when I considered it and ultimately decided against choosing this reward, it had tremendous potential to throw society into chaos...
