When I pulled out the key, the white bat coughed up blood and died on the spot.

At the same time, all the other bats dropped to the ground with a pattering thud.

The bats' corpses scattered and vanished.

So killing the white bat took care of all of them.

I dusted off my hands and approached the treasure chest with the key.

Surely clearing the floor couldn't be as simple as opening this...

Could it be a trap?

Or perhaps it contained the key needed to open the stone gate in the original area.
