Dream of Annihilation

Luna brought the black spirit into the room and dried her wet clothes by the Fireplace. I was also wet, so I sat beside her.

Perhaps because I was next to her, the spirit shivered and burrowed into Luna's arms, as if trying to get away from my gaze.

“They attacked this mansion and exterminated the family?”

“Yes.”

Luna recounted what she had seen in her dream. The Man in a Mask, the Curse Ritual, the extermination, the experiments — none of it was easy to dismiss.

Ronnie woke up and joined our discussion.

““Dead Dragon Mountain” isn’t a real place name. At least, not in the Empire.”

“Could it be a code?”

“It could be, or perhaps the Imperial Intelligence Agency has kept it hidden. I’ve heard they monopolize and manage things like Vampire Ruins and Dragon’s Lairs.”
