Ronnie swept the ashes from the Magic Array again and again with her foot.

I understood why this mansion was deserted. Even after it became empty, outsiders would have avoided coming here due to the lingering traces of the Curse Ritual.
I brought my hand close to the charred corpses. If there were any traces of a curse, Erzsebet's Curse Protection Bracelet would glow, but there was no reaction. It was unlikely that a curse would affect us.
I hesitated for a moment. Should we risk a sudden disaster and set sail again? Or should we wait here for the bad weather to pass?
I turned my head to check on my companions. Their faces were pale from the rain.
Even now, sharp streaks of rain lashed against the mansion's windows like whips.
If we set sail like this, there would be a high probability of losing the Sky Galleon and our getting seriously injured or dying. At least by staying here, though unpleasant, we would be safer than sailing...
