The Leave of Absence Notification was no lie or prank. In that letter, Silberin conveyed in cold, stark handwriting that there would be no second semester for me.

It wasn't an incomprehensible decision. Silberin had repeatedly emphasized that I shouldn't do dangerous things. Now, I must have crossed the line of what she could tolerate.

Like Trisha, I found this decision hard to accept. I was just getting used to the Academy and starting to feel a sense of belonging, but now I have to go back?
