The Basketball-Club Middle School Girl Is a Hard Worker

I wake up to a notification on my phone.

Lately, it feels like more and more of my mornings start that way.

"Ugh..."

I remembered how the main heroine in an old game used to make cute little groaning sounds like that.

All the while knowing the sound coming out of my own mouth was really just a groan.

"What time is it...?"

I checked my phone.

The lock screen showed 10:28. Even though it was Sunday, it looked like I'd slept well into the morning.

But it couldn't be helped. Yesterday, Yusuke-san, one of the male hosts, invited me to commit the heinous sin of eating ramen in the middle of the night after his shift. I couldn't go straight to bed afterward, so I didn't fall asleep until around three.

For the record, a woman called Yusuke-san just as he was leaving, and he hurried off. There's some deep, dark stuff going on there...
