Raising a Child... Found It

I stopped in my tracks at the entrance to the living room.

Yesterday had been rough.

It was all well and good that I'd brought home a little angel, but then they wouldn't stop crying.

Thinking they might be hungry, I fed them some vegetables boiled until soft and gently patted their back in case they needed to burp.

Honestly, I'd never looked after a child this young before, so I had no idea what to do.

I wondered what to do next, but I was tired too, and ended up falling asleep.

I woke up earlier than usual and looked toward the angel who was supposed to be sleeping beside me... They were gone!

Startled, I hurried to the living room, thinking the one-eyed ones might know something.

But the sight there made me stop in my tracks and slump.

There was the adorable angel, laughing while being carried on a one-eyed one's back...
