Now that I can process leather, a problem has arisen.
There is nowhere to dry the leather.
We're surrounded by forest.
I've felled trees around the house as needed, but only a few.
Since each tree is enormous, a single tree yields a lot of planks.
I've felled fewer than ten so far.
The trees I've felled are enormous, so taking down even one gives me a much better view, though.
I only felled the giant trees, so all the others are still standing.
To make a place to dry the leather, I now need to clear the area around the rocky mountain that serves as our house.
I look around the rock.
I don't need to cut down every tree in the area.
For now, I'll make sure there's a reasonably sized space in front of the house.
I cut down trees and process the wood.
Cut and process, cut and process, cut and process...
I'm tired.
A huge pile of processed boards is building up.
I move a huge number of boards to the basement and the unused third floor.
I can see the one-eyed ones are happy.
I wonder if they'll be able to make something else, too?
I keep cutting down trees while listening to the wishes of the goblins and the Cores.
The trees are gone from a fairly large area.
As far as I can see, there are stumps... and I'm still only partway through.
This is strange. I hadn't planned to clear such a large area at first.
As I kept listening to the Cores' wishes, a gigantic field of stumps took shape.
Looking left and right, it seems to extend about the same distance on either side of the rocky mountain.
A hundred meters to the right, a hundred meters to the left...?
It can't really be that much, can it?
Haha, no way.
...
I'm tired, so I take a break.
I step inside... The entryway has been outfitted with wood, and a hallway has been completed.
It seems the one-eyed ones are working hard to outfit the entire house with wood.
I won't say anything—keep up the good work!
What are those kids even trying to accomplish?
For now, I head to the dining room, which has become much more comfortable.
A shelf for storing dishes has been made, and the space where the Cores can relax is lined with furs.
A proper chair has been prepared for me, and for some reason, there's even a rocking chair.
Almost everything looks vaguely familiar.
Here and there are pieces of furniture with designs I've seen in magazines.
But some even have details I don't remember... That's a little scary.
No, the one-eyed ones are working hard, after all.
Yeah, even if there's a hanging chair dangling from the ceiling, it'll be fine.
I saw one in a magazine in high school and thought I'd like one.
And now it's right in front of me... It's not scary!
The hanging chair was extremely comfortable.
