-Core's Perspective: Mistaken for a Wolf-
I look over the fields.
The things Shuri of Anfer Fourmi gathered are growing well.
The edible things gathered from the soil at Master's request.
Many are things I know about but have never eaten.
In the first place, I do not eat things from the soil.
That applies to everyone here, though.
Why did Master want things like these, I wonder?
But the food Master makes is delicious.
For meat to become that delicious is truly a miracle.
I wonder if these will be delicious as well?
I find myself looking forward to it a little.
However, the golems outside are quite strong.
When we had all gone hunting, we found a monster heading toward our home.
We hurried after it, but a golem drove it off instantly.
I have seen golems capable of using magic before, but Master's golems are capable of more than magic alone.
Their movements are so fast that even my eyes see their forms blur for an instant.
Using both, they repel it with a single blow.
As expected of golems made by Master.
I would rather not make an enemy of them.
I take a short break at the pond that appeared near our home.
A spell has been cast on the pond to purify its water.
Every one of Master's spells is enormous in power and scale.
It does not merely purify the pond's water; it turns it into water imbued with pure magical power.
That must be why so many creatures found only in clear streams or certain places are swimming here.
Even when they surface and our gazes meet, they show no hostility.
It seems they are very comfortable here.
A golem with a green magic stone creates a healing breeze within the barrier.
The breeze flows from the house toward the surrounding area.
The pleasant sensation makes me feel drowsy.
!!!
What? Master's magical power is surging.
Has something happened?
But none of those with him is sending any signal.
Master's magical power, easily dozens of times what it had been, races through the forest.
Carried on the wind, invisible magical power rains down upon the earth, the trees, the water, and everything there.
I feel the barrier I have always sensed vanishing.
It seems the others felt it too; I can see them panicking.
I exhale deeply and assess the situation. That is when I notice it.
The golems outside are continuing their usual work.
As if nothing had happened.
The golems should be directly connected to Master; they would know if anything were wrong.
Does this mean there is no problem?
But the barrier...
With no change in the golems, I gradually calm down and wait with my companions for Master's return.
Master appears looking the same as always. I check up close, but there seems to be no problem.
I am relieved.
The next day, I notice that the barrier has expanded.
Master once said that he wanted to expand the barrier, but we all refused.
We were worried that maintaining the barrier would put too much strain on Master's body.
But I suppose that concern was unnecessary after all.
I try running along the barrier, but it is so vast... I cannot circle it in a single day.
Master must be maintaining that vast barrier, yet nothing about Master has changed.
As usual, Master patrols outside, checks the lake water, checks on the others, and checks the golems.
Master really is no different from usual.
As expected of Master.
