Balder stared intently at the claws, hide, bones, and other materials on the counter, letting out an involuntary exclamation. Surena seemed rather proud of his reaction.

“Hmm... It’s tough.”

He picked up a piece of material and flicked it with his finger. Apparently unsatisfied, he tapped it with a small hammer and made a brief comment.

Zeno Grayble really had been hard. It had been all I could do to damage its hide, so its bones and claws must have been incredibly tough.

“But why a longsword?”

Balder voiced the obvious question.

I had a bad feeling about this. Well, calling it bad was rude. Either way, I’d had a hunch this wasn’t going to turn out well, so I’d kept quiet.
