“Matsuda-kun. I really like you, too, but I think we need to keep our personal feelings separate from our duties.”

Miyuki brought up the subject seriously in front of the gym storage room.

I shrugged and replied,

“I like you so much that I almost skipped school, but I came anyway.”

The corners of Miyuki’s mouth twitched briefly before settling back into place.

She was clearly delighted by my confession, but as a student council member and disciplinary committee member, she still seemed intent on setting me straight.
