“I seriously thought I was going to die…”

My breath came in ragged gasps, as if my lungs were about to tear.

I’d barely managed to escape that thing—the worm or whatever it was—and make it into the cave. Only then did I finally feel like I might live.

Maybe the Cleaner had realized it had lost me.

It turned its massive body around and headed back the way it came.

“Yeah, get lost. Hoo…”

Only then did the relief of having survived finally wash over me.

“So, did I clear it? What’s the reward?”
