Sorting Through the Keepsakes

The boss monster had exploded, and even the remains had burned away without a trace. The tentacle fragments inside it, and even its mana core, were gone.

As if to prove it, the flesh surrounding the barrier around the large, regular octahedral jewel melted and sloughed away.

Of course, even the membrane I was standing on. Even the floors below.

"Whoa—"

'Thump.'

A feeling of weightlessness enveloped my whole body, and a voice escaped me before I knew it. But a huge tree trunk shot up and formed a platform, saving me from a free fall.

The trunk that had served as a platform slowly rose again, carrying me to the place in front of the octahedral jewel.

Now that I could see it properly, it was truly enormous, radiating a brilliant, iridescent light.

Now I had to close the Gate. Should I take the World Tree with me? Could any spatial skill shrink a tree down to a tiny size...
