20th-Floor Range Exchange Meeting (2)

So I ended up experiencing an exchange meeting where I was suddenly called “Number One.”

“They’ll probably give more points to whoever finds the treasure first.”

The blond giant of a man, Number Three, said.

“But I don’t think we need to rush. If they started this mission with thirty people and there are only three treasures, they must be pretty hard to find. Third place probably won’t have a bad reward, either.”

Number Three’s words made a lot of sense.

The short-haired woman, Number Two, came over to me.

“Well… I’m sure it’ll be fine, right? This isn’t a floor we have to clear to keep climbing or anything. We won’t die if we fail to find the treasure. Nobody’s going to start killing other players just to get it, right? Ah!”

Number Two muttered to herself, then clapped both hands over her mouth.

Maybe after saying it all out loud, she realized that what she’d said sounded pretty plausible.

“You have a point. People might kill each other out of greed for the points they’d get from finding the treasure.”...
