Moreover, the people gathered in that ballroom, which had reached such extravagant heights, were dazzling beyond compare.

But even among such a dazzling crowd, there were bound to be people who stood out above all the rest.

Nearly all the nobles gathered here were engaging in ordinary conversations while subtly directing their eyes and ears toward one side.
