Along with the starboard lookout's report, two explosions erupted from the Albion's side armor and deck.
However, the ship visible beyond the billowing smoke looked utterly unharmed.
It was the obvious result. The Albion's citadel had been designed to withstand even its own guns.
"Upper-deck armor lightly damaged! No fire!"
"No damage to the starboard armor belt! No flooding reported!"
Arthur asked back in a calm voice.
"Everyone, did you hear that?"
The Albion's armor had not been designed to withstand the 305mm shells of the pre-dreadnought era. Its defenses, designed with the larger and more powerful guns of the next generation in mind, protected the ship.
"Their 305mm guns can't even scratch our Albion. Don't be afraid. Each of you, do your duty."...
