Aris! I Hope You’ll Be Happy!

The late-afternoon sunlight filtered softly through the leaves.

Each time the breeze passed through the branches, a faint scent of greenery drifted by,

and beneath them, three female Wolpi sat in a circle on the grass.

We were enjoying a leisurely afternoon with friends.

“Oh my, Aris, look at your belly… It’s so cute!”

I carefully took a seat.

As I sat with my knees drawn together as if to cradle my belly, one of my friends carefully spread a blanket for me.

“Is your back okay when you sit down?”

“Yeah, thanks. I’m fine.”

They were all companions I’d been close to even before I left the tribe...
