A wizard is, quite literally, a person who uses magic.

And there is something one needs in order to use magic.

Just as the citizens of Magitera use magic through ACUs, people in Kael's world had to be born with mana circuits to manipulate mana.

Some might call that unfair, but reality is unfair by nature.

However, merely possessing a mana circuit within one's body did not mean one could use magic at will. To read the flow of mana, one first had to become aware of the existence of one's own mana circuit.

That was why the first training given to children found to possess mana circuits was meditation. More precisely, they had to concentrate in order to become aware of the existence of their own mana circuits.

It sounded simple when put into words, but apprentice wizards took an average of a full year to use magic for the first time. That was how delicate the process was.
