The representatives in the room were no longer raising their voices at one another. They had been on edge, trying to shift responsibility onto each other because Renix Vile's death had yielded them nothing, but things were different now.

Yvette Calix stood at the end of the table. Looking at the news floating on the central panel, she spoke quietly.

“The media got the jump on us.”

Magnus Helvern asked with his arms crossed,

“What's the response?”

“Fast. Especially since the bounty notice went up, the number of citizen tips has exploded.”...
