“M-Miss Yuria, you can just go rest, you know…….”

“What are you talking about, Lucy? I'm a maid too. I can't sit out when everyone else is working. We're short-staffed as it is.”

I lightly patted the head of the little maid, who was younger than me, then took the bucket of water she was carrying.

……I'd taken it from her without a second thought because she'd been carrying it so casually, but it was much heavier than I'd expected.

Maybe the aftereffects of yesterday's torture disguised as exercise were still lingering.

They said it'd take about three months before it started to work. This was bad.

“Now then, believe it or not, I've been a maid for five years. You can leave cleaning the study to me. How about you go to the laundry room, Lucy? Auntie Rosa, who's in charge of cleaning it today, said her back was bothering her yesterday.”

Little Lucy hesitated for a moment, then bowed her head and trotted off.

Phew. I'd bragged with such confidence, but how was I supposed to clean this place alone?
