Andy Andrews, a student in Practical Class B and eighth in the academy rankings, muttered as he sat on a tree stump.

“Yes, yes. Please double-check you haven’t forgotten anything. They’ll tell you about the temporary housing area once you teleport there. Yes….”

Only Marcus Jackson, the seventh-ranked student and the class leader, was directing the refugees preparing to evacuate to the capital.

“Don’t wear yourself out for nothing, Marcus. I’m sure they’ll manage just fine on their own.”
