When Jung Seok woke from a deep sleep, the sight of a corridor both unfamiliar and familiar greeted him at a glance. The darkness seeping into his skin like thick ink, the cold stone walls, and the creaking wooden floor were so familiar they almost felt comforting.

Was there anyone who would look forward to nightmares, or even long for them? Jung Seok was glad to have entered a nightmare no human will alone could ever escape.

Jung Seok picked up one of the candles hanging from the wall. In the corridor he remembered, there shouldn’t have been candles like this.

Holding that softly dazzling light, Jung Seok shone it here and there along the corridor, and before long he could roughly understand why the scenery before him differed from his memory.
