Kaelan stood beside the cradle where the child lay, staring intently at the sleeping child's face.

I swallowed dryly as I lay on the bed and watched his back.

This was the moment.

If I wanted to give the child the name I had chosen, I had to say it now.

Before he gave this child a different name.
