The standard for being worth a hundred men isn’t absolute. Take the retired adventurers standing guard in Crossroads, for example.

If they were up against ordinary NPCs with no abilities, they could be worth a hundred men—even if they were washed-up has-beens now.

Their experience roaming the Tower as veteran adventurers hadn’t disappeared. But the Dragon King Heavenly Cult was different.

“You bastards……!! These aren’t ordinary NPCs!!”

“But they don’t seem to be adventurers, either. What the hell are they up to?!”

“Don’t let your guard down just because you took their heads off! They can keep moving for about five minutes even after they die……!”

The Dragon King Heavenly Cult forces that attacked Crossroads numbered at least 500. There was no way every last one of them was an adventurer.

But that didn’t make them ordinary adventurers, either. An Appraisal Scroll showed that their average stats were around 200.

“Damn……!! This is bad, we’re being pushed back!!”
