Drinks and a Deal

On my way to the tavern, I stopped by the shop in the back alley, paid the remaining 1,000 gold, and got my token back.

The rest of my reward money came to about 500 gold.

That was enough to order everything on the tavern’s menu and still have money left over.

When I opened the door, the same raucous atmosphere that had greeted me on my first visit welcomed me again.

"Hey! Let's do it again!"

"Well, well. Why would someone who knows all about it say that?"

"Yeah, just hurry up and pay for the drinks!"

"You guys just wait. I'll get you for this later."

"If you don't like it, you should've hunted more monsters!"

The only thing that had changed since my last visit was the huge number of people who looked like mercenaries...
