Every black mage I had seen so far had been utterly evil, enough to immediately conjure up the image of a “demon.”

(Even though I had only encountered two of them so far.)

Anyway, you can tell a lot from one example.

Having witnessed the malice of evil black mages like Milo and the Puppeteer firsthand, it was only natural that I had developed negative feelings toward every black mage in the world.

They swallowed perfectly healthy people as a settlement for their contracts, controlled corpses with earthworms and dragged them around, turned innocent people into Sages’ Stones shaped like serum bottles….

As someone with ordinary sensibilities, I found it difficult to feel any affection for their kind.

However, now that I had heard directly from Yulia Volkova why they were targeting her, I realized that black mages were people too.

I still felt sympathy for them, even if I couldn’t go so far as to like them.

That was only until the lunatic worm-fucker showed up to target her again.
