He knew that a sosa-gwi (燒死鬼) was considered a rather dangerous ghost in Buddhism. But humans were scarier than ghosts to begin with, and mages were scarier than humans. So ghosts should show mages a little more respect.
And as for what becomes of ghosts that fail to do that, Ms. Lee Seoa, the ghost-type Pokémon master living over in Busan, was proving it firsthand.
