March mornings were colder than expected. Winter had passed and spring had arrived, but spring had not yet fully bloomed. The winter chill was more stubborn than expected, and the flower buds trembled as they silently longed for the cold to go away.

He considered putting on gloves, but gave up because they would make it hard to react in an emergency.
