Chapter 27: The End of Waiting

Watching Alde, the lord asked the butler as naturally as he could.

"I didn't call for you, Alde. What is it?"

Even at the lord's question, Alde didn't move or answer. He only stared intently at the lord.

As their silent standoff dragged on, I had a feeling something was wrong.

I hurriedly leaned close to Eah, who was sitting beside me, and whispered in her ear.

"Stay close to the lord."

After saying that, I cautiously drew my sword from my inventory.

Eah glanced at me, then quietly stood up and slowly approached the lord.
