Chapter 29: Chris

Keline was bustling with people, befitting the imperial capital.

I’d heard the war with the demons was raging, but looking at the city, those rumors felt like lies.

It was too late to meet the emperor today, so we decided to stay the night. I asked if they had anywhere they wanted to stay, but neither of them knew of a place, so I took them to the Adventurers’ Guild.

Usually, we rented just one room, but today I showed them Chris’s insignia too and rented two.

There were two beds in each room, so I paired myself with Chris and Maria with Aria.

"Sis, wouldn't it be easier to just split up by gender? The beds look big, too."

I’d split us up thinking we’d each take a bed, but now that I thought about it, Maria’s suggestion made the most sense.

Still, there was no problem sharing a room with Chris; it was just more comfortable for each of us to have our own bed.

When I explained what I thought, Maria said she understood and suggested we eat in their room.

After eating the meal provided by the guild, I returned to the room, washed up quickly, and lay down on the bed...
