Chapter 43: Drass Plains

It was nice that nothing was happening, but there wasn't much to do.

We couldn't advance until the forces on both sides had properly taken up their positions,

Chloe's plan was to move to the center once both flanks were in place, then occupy the remaining territory.

She said that if we secured the center while holding both sides firmly, moving elsewhere would be easy.

If things continued like this, we should be able to take control of the Drass Plains without much trouble.

"It's strange... They wouldn't just sit back and watch this happen..."

As Chloe had said, taking control of the plains would severely restrict the demons' movements, so it was strange that they weren't doing anything.

Except for the plains and the road leading to the Demon King's castle, most of the area was steep mountains, so we'd expected a major battle to take place here.

I wondered if perhaps they didn't have many troops, but even Derkam, the Lich we'd seen recently, hadn't come looking for us.

We formed a scouting party and surveyed the area, but all we could see was the vast expanse of the plains...
