"I've arrived at my lodgings... but this really doesn't feel familiar."

I scratched my head as I looked at the place spread out before me.

After ten years of experience, I'd naturally expected a dark motel to greet me, but... the scene before my eyes was a lavish resort hotel.

The lighting was bright, and the interior and furnishings were extravagantly luxurious. It was so spacious that comparing it with the other lodgings felt almost unfair.

This is really hard to get used to.

"Still, I can tell I've been away for a few days."

When I went to the balcony and opened the door, a cool night breeze greeted me, revealing a vast lake and snow-covered mountains.

"…The stars from up here aren't bad either."

At least, I liked that it wasn't cold. As the warm night air naturally eased my tension, I set my luggage down on the floor.
