That was something the plastic surgery professor at the university hospital where I used to work said at a meeting of the surgeons.

The professor who brought it up was promptly punished by the other surgeons, though.

Even I, who was there, couldn't help but agree with it to some extent.

‘Because if surgery cuts everything away, plastic surgery puts it back together.’

Surgery's role is to cut things out.

Rotten tissue, cancerous tissue, tissue where the bleeding won't stop.

Most surgical operations consist of removing those areas from the body.

Of course, people can't keep losing organs forever...
