That day, I stayed at Glenda's mansion and received his hospitality. The next day, I left the port town of Tomhans.

For dinner, I was served a very large lobster as a specialty of Tomhans.

The lobster had been boldly split in half down the middle and grilled, and the salt and lemon sauce went wonderfully with it.

The salt was not rock salt but sea salt made in a village near Tomhans, and apparently the lemons were also produced within Jilchias.

Jilchias was probably among the more prosperous countries in the west-central region.

Blessed with the sea and a stable climate, it had several industries to enrich the country besides trade, including salt production and lemon cultivation.

That was why, even amid the chaotic situation in the west-central region, Jilchias could afford to enjoy its specialties.

But it would surely be a mistake to judge the west-central region based on this country's prosperity.

There were surely many poor countries too weak to cope with wars against other countries or the threat of monsters.

The people living in such countries had little room to spare, and even if their country had the Fertility God as its state religion, there would still be many who wanted to sell any nonhuman they saw for money...
