Once my discussion with Win was over, I ended up staying in a room at an inn now being used as quarters for soldiers of the allied army.

Presumably, they had gone out of their way to arrange one of the better rooms.

As far as the building itself was concerned, it was what you would call an upscale inn.

I would not have minded staying at a less luxurious inn; all I needed was the chance to talk with Win, but apparently they had gone to the trouble of making me comfortable.

He had actually tried to invite me to the base of the Tiger clan, where he was staying, but I decided to hold off for now.

We had plenty to talk about, but we could do so at any time.

Compared with the distance between the east-central and western regions, the difference between our lodgings must have been trivial.

He must have responsibilities in the allied army—or perhaps within the Tiger clan—so I did not want to get in his way.

If we wanted to spend some leisurely time together, we would have ample opportunity after the current battle was over.

Besides, we were not children anymore, so it was not as though we needed to do everything together all the time...
