A Monster and a True Monster (7)

Three months have passed since I reunited with Win.

The battle between the human army assembled by the Holy Pontiff and the allied army has already begun.

That said, the battle is still only in its very early stages. So far, the beastfolk led by halflings have been cutting down scouting parties sent out by the human army, while the beastfolk attack positions where siege weapons for destroying the fortifications have begun to be assembled and set them ablaze.

In other words, the beastfolk are pretty frightening.

However, the human army is so vast that no matter how many sporadic skirmishes it loses, it will not be shaken; at most, its advance will be slowed a little.

Thus, the battle will truly begin when the human army starts attacking the forts held by the allied army.

Having taken so much time to assemble, the human army apparently has abundant supplies and provisions as well.

The army has distributed those supplies and provisions among multiple depots, taking the utmost care to ensure that the front line's supply route is never cut off.

That way, even if some of the depots are attacked and burned down, the enormous army will not be rendered unable to function.

Somewhat surprisingly, the human army did not seem to hold the allied army in contempt...
