A few days later, an assignment order arrived from the Army Ministry.

Captain Heinrich von Hardenberg of the 4th Guards Infantry Regiment.

It stated that he had experience commanding a company, had completed the War Academy course, and had recently evaluated infantry-machine-gun cooperation exercises.

The order stated that his assignment would last six months.

Keller looked at that number and said,

“Do you think that will be enough?”

“No.”

“Then why did you request six months?”

“I thought they wouldn’t send him if I asked for several years from the start.”

A few days later, Captain Hardenberg finally arrived at the workshop...
