‘So she really doesn’t believe me….’

I sighed as I walked through the garden in the early dawn.

Maybe it was because I was in such a gloomy mood, but even though it was my family’s garden, everything felt unfamiliar, as though I were seeing the path for the first time. Only the dew-covered grass and the chill of the dawn air felt familiar.
