Rene, who had been sitting on the edge of the bed, immediately reacted to the sound.

She had been staring out at the dark sky beyond the window with a slightly dazed expression, but when she spotted Kairos standing by the door, she gave him a small smile.

“Did things go well with the secretary?”

“Yeah. Rene, are you feeling any better now?”

“Me? Of course I’m perfectly fine. My mana circuits were just a little rattled, that’s all.”
