A Routine That Had Become Ordinary

Nothing particularly dramatic happened to my life while I spent the second semester of my first year.

Only Kairos kept hovering around me and making his presence known.

Other than that, my painfully ordinary first-year life continued much as it had during the first semester.

“Before long, we’ll be second-years….”

One snowy midwinter afternoon, Lia was lying on her bed and staring blankly out the window when she suddenly muttered,

I set aside the book I was reading for a moment, stretched languidly, and turned to look at Lia.

“What, you feel like time’s gone by quickly?”

“Not particularly…. I was just thinking quietly about what I’d done over the past year, and it suddenly made me feel a little strange.”

“Because it feels like you haven’t accomplished anything in particular?”

“Mmm… well, yeah.”...
