Kairos's Crisis

Running through the nighttime streets, I sent out mana signals like mad.

Amid the icy fear raking my entire body, I gritted my teeth and scanned the streets drowned in darkness. Memories of every moment I had spent with Kairos scattered in all directions, throwing my thoughts into disarray.

“Calm down for a moment, Rene!”

By the time my breath was coming up to my throat and my legs had gone numb, Rebecca seized my shoulder tightly.

Once I finally stopped, she spoke with a calm expression, not even out of breath.

“Let’s think calmly for now. This isn’t something we can solve by wandering around blindly like this.”

“But….”

“You know better than anyone that Kairos isn’t someone who’d get taken down by something like this. Right now, you need to trust him and make a cool-headed judgment.”

Her hand gripping my shoulder tightened slightly.
