Discovery of a Secret

Contrary to my intuition that something big was about to happen, nothing particularly unusual happened after that.

Ria returned to the dormitory as if nothing had happened and merely said nonchalantly, with a bright, innocent smile, “Kairos has a surprisingly fun side to him, you know.”

“Hmm….”

Thus passed a boring weekend.

Before long, it was February, with the opening ceremony just around the corner.

That day, too, I was lying on my bed reading books when I suddenly turned my head and looked around at Ria’s empty bed and the space around it.

After staring silently at that empty space for quite some time, I finally set aside the book I had been reading and quietly looked up at the ceiling.

“Something’s definitely suspicious….”

Even today, Ria had left the room in a hurry first thing in the morning, saying only, “I’m going out to have fun~” She hadn’t revealed who she was meeting, where she was going, or what she would be doing, as though that were perfectly natural.

Of course, whatever she did was none of my business, but the problem was that the last person I knew she had gone out with was Kairos...
