“We caught it pretty easily.”

The red slime squirmed inside the cage.

I tentatively stuck out a finger and poked it, and Kairos frantically reached out.

“W-wait! It’s dangerous to touch it carelessly!”

“Don’t make such a fuss. I know all about this thing, too.”

Red slime. One of the more dangerous varieties of slime, it protected itself in emergencies by spitting fire.

“They coated the inside of this cage with Chrono powder. You know what that is, right?”

“Chrono… the stuff that absorbs mana?”

“Yeah. The teachers must’ve taken precautions. It’d be a disaster if the red slime we put in here suddenly breathed fire.”...
