Termites

Usually, ants have a distinctive sour taste because of formic acid (ant acid).

However, unlike ordinary ants, termites contain almost no formic acid and therefore don't taste sour, so they are eaten as food in Southeast Asia and parts of Africa.

In other words, eating them won't cause anything bad to happen to your body.

“Y-you're really going to eat these?”

Yerin stared at the termites in the bamboo container with an expression that said she couldn't understand it at all.

Maybe she'd gotten too used to eating delicious food lately, and her stomach was full.

These were incredibly precious provisions when it came to survival.

“Termites are rich in nutrients.”

“No… Rils. I thought about it carefully, and we still have bananas left over and honey, right? Do we really need to eat ants?”
