We set out immediately to subjugate the Demon King.

But setting out didn't mean we could walk all that way, so our only real option was to hire a carriage going to a nearby village and ride there.

Of course, we would eventually arrive if we walked, but the journey would be far too grueling, so it would be better to take a carriage somewhere reasonably close and walk from there.

The Hero probably thought the same, which was why he suggested taking a carriage.

Luckily, we found the kind of carriage we wanted and were able to ride along under the pretext of serving as escorts.

A carriage, huh…

The Hero and I were sitting side by side.

Come to think of it, I'd traveled by carriage like this when I first met the Hero, too.

Back then, the carriage had turned out to belong to slave traders, and things had nearly gone very badly.

We'd both known what the carriage really was, but we hadn't been able to say anything about it...
